The first time I saw Angel, she was in a stall waiting to go through the auction ring at a sale in Stillwater, OK, September 4, 2004. I had no money but thought she was absolutely beautiful.
Angel went through the sale and was purchased by Walt and Clara Woodson. I talked to Clara several times and always asked about Angel. When the time came for Clara to part with Angel, she gave me a chance to bring her home. I was so proud of Angel, our sweet blue eyed girl. We both really bonded with her and spent a lot of time with her. In August of 2005, Angel waited until we were there to deliver a sweet filly.
A week after the baby was born, Angel wasn't feeling well so we took her to the vet. Over the next 3 weeks, Angel had good days and bad days but spent most of her time in the hospital. The vet was unable to determine exactly what was wrong, she had most of the symptoms of West Nile Virus but tested negative. He tested her for everything he could think of and she was negative for everything. On the evening of September 4, 2005, the vet called and had us come to the hospital. They were sure she had a twisted gut. We authorized immediate surgery. When they opened her up, her liver had abcessed and there was nothing they could do but let her go. We still miss her every day but she left us her Legacy to carry on.
Rest in Peace our beautiful girl, we miss you!

We purchased Comanche in 1979. He was wild as they come, he was in a very small pen when we first saw him and it took 2 hours to catch him.Billy finally tackled him and held him until we could get a halter on him. He calmed down very quickly with one on one attention and a lot of love. We were very proud of our boy and were devastated when he was killed.
Rest in peace baby, we think about you often.

The first time I saw her, she was a 2 month old foal in a tiny little corral. She was so thin you could see every rib. There was a 98 year old neighbor that had been carrying water to her in a pitcher. The only thing she had to eat were dry cornstalks pulled from a garden. I begged and pleaded and finally got to bring her home. We paid $35 for her. She was so weak that on the 1/4 mile walk to get her home, I had to stop several times to let her rest. She immediately started gaining weight and growing. She was a fantastic little mare, she was a great barrel horse, cutting horse, reining horse, and was trained to drive. She won many trophies and ribbons in her life and loved to compete. She won Grand Champion Halter Mare at her last show when she was well into her 20's. She was quite a handful and not just anyone could handle her. She had personality plus.
We will miss you always beautiful girl, until we meet again.
These photos were taken when she was 25 years old.

Dusty was the ultimate kid pony, he taught many children the joys of riding and was safe for any age. Dusty loved to be driven and he pulled everything from a kids sled to a cart. He was shown quite a bit locally and was reserve champion gelding at his last show. He was unfortuantely hit by a car in 1977 and the vet was unable to save him.
My favorite memory of Dusty was the day that my grandfather drove him for nearly an hour and had the biggest smile on his face that anyone had seen for many months. Even though he was very ill, my grandfather insisted on fitting the new harness on Dusty and giving him a test drive. My grandfather passed away less than 5 months later of cancer.

Rickie was an older miniature mare when we got her. She was found in a pasture with 2 large horses and had evidently been left to her own devices as far as food and shelter. She had foundered badly in the past and her hooves looked like skis. When the man that owned her decided to get rid of her, he gave her to my niece. We did not own a trailer at that time and had to walk her home. It was a trip of a little over 2 miles and took an entire afternoon.
She was visited by a very good farrier several times over the next few months and also by a vet. We did manage to get her healthy and comfortable and she was a valued member of the family from when we got her in 1973 until she was accidently shot by a neighbor in 1980 and we lost her.
She was much loved by all the kids and could be trusted with the smallest child.
